At-home tooth whitening is an excellent solution for teeth that are mildly discoloured. The most reliable way to whiten your teeth at home is by using bespoke moulds created by one of our dental technicians based on impressions taken by your dentist. A whitening solution is available to buy at your local dental clinic.
Many of our clinics also sell a choice of milder whitening products that are suitable for use at home. Typically, hydrogen peroxide and/or carbamide peroxide are used for tooth whitening. The concentration found in the products suitable for use at home is 6–16% while the products used at our clinics is 37–40%. This means that to achieve the same results you see at the dental clinic, you will need to treat your teeth for longer.
It’s always a good idea to have your teeth and gums checked beforehand to make sure they’re in good condition. We only offer tooth whitening when your mouth is healthy. A bit of plaque or tartar covering your teeth will make the treatment less effective.
If you’ve already visited our clinic for tooth whitening, our at-home range is a great way to maintain the results. Please bear in mind that it’s a good idea to keep away from highly pigmented foods like coffee and red wine for about a week after your treatment.
It is perfectly safe to whiten your teeth at home, provided that you follow the products provided at our dental clinic.
